We have a variety of groups and ministries that you are welcome to join and serve God and the church. These groups get together to pray, reach out to the wider communities and serve their fellow parishioners. If you wish to serve in the church, please join one or more of our Church ministries.
Youth Group
This vibrant Youth Group meets once a month in our Youth Centre. They participate in a number of youth activities within our Parish community as well as within the Central Auckland Diocese. See more photos.
Parish Pastoral Council
The Parish Pastoral Council consists of representatives from the various ministries as well as elected members from the Parish. Legion of Mary
St John Vianney Parish Legion of Mary meets weekly at 7.30pm on Wednesday evenings at the church. With eleven members they start with the Rosary followed by a short meeting to discuss mission work in the parish. Read more...
Children's Liturgy
St John Vianney Parish celebrates children’s Liturgy of the Word on most Sundays at the 9am mass during the school term.

Music Ministry
The various music groups at St John Vianney serve the Parish by leading the music at our weekend masses and special celebrations during the year.
Altar Servers Group
A number of our young parishioners provide invaluable support to our Parish Priest during the masses.
Catholic Women's League
The mission of the League is to unite Catholic women in Aotearoa New Zealand, to enhance their spiritual, intellectual, family and social life, and to witness to Christian service through charitable works and social action. Read more...
Secular Francisan Order
A group of about 25 members, who meet monthly at the St Francis Retreat Centre, 50 Hillsborough Road. Living the Christian faith by reflecting on the life of St Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), the founder, who embraced creation in his love for the suffering and the afflicted around him. Read more...
Eucharistic Ministry
Eucharistic Ministers distribute the Holy Eucharist to fellow parishioners at mass and at liturgical events as well as bring the Holy Eucharist to those who are unable to attend mass due to age or infirmity.
Morning Tea Ministry
Our parishioners share a cuppa after Sunday mass in the foyer. This group of parishioners organises morning tea, giving the community an opportunity to socialise after Sunday Mass and build nurturing relationships.
Flower Ministry
St John Vianney Parish is blessed to have beautiful fresh flowers each week at the altar. A group of talented parishioners brightens each week with lovely arrangements.
Church Cleaning Ministry
Our Church is kept clean and tidy by a group of selfless parishioners who take turns coming in each week.
Adoration Ministry
Silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament is a source of meditation and spiritual development for families of the parish. From Wednesday 7:30pm to Saturday 5pm, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration. Ends at 10pm every night.
Lamb of God Community
We are a multi-locational, multi-cultural and inter-generational community of disciples on a mission. Jesus came so we may have life in its fullness (Jn 1:10), and we commit ourselves to that life in the daily life of prayer, service, fellowship and caring for one another. Read more...
